Sat 1st Oct   Library Theatre Touring Company presents   'The Kingfisher'   by William Douglas-Home

A hit in the West End and Broadway!

With echoes of PG Wodehouse, this effervescent romantic comedy takes a light-hearted look at the lives and loves of three fascinating characters.

Reading the obituaries, famous writer Sir Cecil Warburton makes a discovery that has him whistling in the bath! Reggie Townsend has died, widowing ‘Evelyn’ the only woman that Cecil loved...and lost. He arranges to meet Evelyn in his garden where he kissed her years earlier but Cecil’s expectations are foiled as it becomes clear that he hasn’t considered any objections of his bride-to-be.or indeed of his butler Hawkins !…

We are looking forward to another inspired performance by the Library Theatre Touring Company..

Sat 12th Nov     An Evening with Mervyn Stutter     www.mervynstutter.com/

Making a welcome return appearance, Merv is best known for his comedy shows on Radio 4 and he has performed at the Edinburgh Festival for 27 years.

Like the host of a dinner party, he treats his audience as welcome guests. He chats a bit, tells a few jokes, makes some pithy observations, with lots of clever comedy songs on guitar. He is an accomplished singer and guitarist but what makes his performances so very good is the intelligence and the fun. His sometimes wicked but always affectionate sense of humour brings warmth and joy to an audience that is happy to laugh both at his life and their own.

"Celebrating the trivial and attacking the absurd he gives us a seriously funny show." - The Scotsman

Probably not suitable for children.

Sat 3rd Dec                 Trovatori             -             www.trovatori.com

They may have moved away to the far-off Midlands but we have managed to entice back yet again the formerly Whalley based professional opera singers Darren Clarke and Caroline Lester who make up the acclaimed singing duo Trovatori for an early Christmas treat, with songs from opera, the West End and more, plus a few popular festive songs and carols! .

Darren studied at the Royal Northern College of Music. His singing career has taken him to opera houses and theatres in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, and Europe. He is also an accomplished Lieder singer. Caroline studied composition at Durham University and reached the final stages of Channel 4’s Operatunity and ITV’s Search for a Soprano. She has performed numerous operatic roles and has appeared in many oratorios and concerts across the UK, Europe and the United States.

They regularly perform as guest artists onboard luxury cruise ships as well as the luxury Thomson Gold and Thomson Couples resorts across Europe to great acclaim. They also perform across the UK in concert halls and theatres as well as at corporate events, music festivals, hotels and private events.
